BIOS: KEN LIAO

Ken started playing bass when he was 12 after listening to bassists such as Billy Gould (Faith No More) and Robert Trujillo (Suicidal Tendencies). His playing style though is more influenced by Cliff Burton (Metallica) and Steve Harris (Iron Maiden). He played in a few bands in high school at Houston area clubs and then moved up to Austin where he joined his brother in Drawn Under for a few years. In 2000, Drew had actually joined Drawn Under for a few months before they decided to call it quits. After the band broke up, he let his bass sit around and collect dust for a couple of years. He met up with Drew again and joined Meyvn in Dec of 2003. In 2005, not only was Meyvn voted best metal band in Austin in the Edge Magazine, but Ken was voted #2 bassist in Austin.
